I've been seeing some of these around that were homemade knitted and I thought they were so cool, when I saw this I decided to treat myself. I'm very happy with this purchase.
I pictured it more like a bag you would stick your feet in but it is more open and flaps in the back do you can just put your feet in and spread it over your lap. It is a great weight for a blanket, the yarn is soft but dense. The top part kind of looks like scales and the bottom fin is wide ribbed knit gathered toward the top. It isn't rigid at all as there aren't like, wire supports, so I have to flip around pretty intentionally to feel especially mermaid-y.
It's just fun and also lovely and functional, a great combination. I think I will be buying some for gifts as well.
I'm a plus sized woman and it fits me comfortably. I did try to have my husband be a merman, but he is 6'7" and there is a definite height limit. He liked the texture and weight, but it was too short for him. Based on this, I would not recommend it for people over 6'2" to be most comfortable. Otherwise, it's suitable for anyone that might occasionally needed a blanket and appreciate a touch on whimsy. -

- Just got this blanket for my 4 year old for Christmas. She's obsessed with everything mermaid and I cannot wait for her to open this gift. The blanket is very soft and is really good quality. I love it so much I've decided to buy another one for my 2 year old!

- The blanket is beautiful! Great quality and such a pretty color. I needed it for a birthday and they were able to accommodate and get it shipped very fast! I love how there is an opening in the back so it is more like a blanket and less like a sleeping bag. Totally recommend it!
